BRANSON TDR ROBOTIC ARM

Summary of problem: Programmed Branson three dimensional robot to automate labour intensive passivation cycle in cleanroom conditions.

Skills used/developed:

  • Researched the Branson TDR and compiled the relevant documents

  • Performed troubleshooting activities relating to initializing and programming robot, including dry and test running the system

  • Drafted work instructions clearly describing how select and activate the programmed cycles

Outcome:

  • Successfully programmed the TRD to perform nitric acid passivation cycles for both stainless steel and titanium parts

  • Reduced operator intervention to allow technicians to perform other tasks during the two hour passivation cycle
